Razer first unveiled this RGB face mask concept at CES 2021 in January, and it confirmed that it was becoming a real product in March 2021. Unlike a regular N95 mask, which provides more protection than a surgical or cloth mask but is more difficult to breathe in, Project Hazel has 'detachable and rechargeable active ventilators and Smart Pods' for easier breathing. Razer is describing Project Hazel as 'The worlds smartest mask,' and as 'Safe, social, and sustainable. The gaming tech manufacturer describes it as the 'worlds smartest face mask,' and was revealed today by the manufacturer. Project Hazel is an N95 medical-grade respirator designed with breathability in mind. Zephyr is designed to be "safe, social and sustainable," and it also "sports 99% BFE, a secure silicon face seal and anti-fog coating." Razer touts that its mask is equipped with an N95 respirator, and while that's great, there are tons of other face masks out there that have the exact same thing. Project Hazel is now officially Razer Zephyr – the latest evolution of our wearable air purifier. There's nothing about Project Hazel that looks inherently bad, but many of its strong suits can be found with cheaper, non-smart masks just as easily.
